Floyd makes last plea

Here's and excerpt from the BBC's news on Floyd Landis' last attempt to overturn the ruling that stripped him of the TDF yellow jersey.

American Floyd Landis has filed his appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in his final attempt to overturn his two-year doping ban.

The disgraced 2006 Tour de France winner tested positive during the race.

He is appealing against September's ruling by a US arbitration panel that upheld laboratory findings that he used synthetic testosterone during the Tour.

Landis's lawyer, Maurice Suh, said: "We will prove, once again, that the French laboratory's results are inaccurate."

Landis tested positive for elevated levels of testosterone after his victory on stage 17 of the 2006 Tour, and Spain's Oscar Pereiro was subsequently declared the 2006 Tour de France champion.

Tour de France '08 Planning

I have to confess that I haven't really put much effort in the way of preparing for the Tour de France 2008. I do own 189riders.com and tdf08.com and will soon be forwarding those addresses here so I can blog from anywhere.

But for July 2008, I am still trying to figure out if I'll travel to France to cover it, if I'll be on sabbatical, or what the plan is.

In the meantime, go visit my blog or my other writing sites - jeffcutler.com, ideas2words.com and thingstoworryabout.com.

No rumblings yet

With all the drug talk in July, I'm surprised that nothing has emerged about the top three riders in this year's (2007) Tour de France.

Friends and other journalists have expressed some concern that Contador, Leipheimer and Evans had such a gap on the rest of the field that they too must have been on the juice.

I'll let you know what's going on as the course gets announced in about 45 days.

Until then, check back here or check Jeff Cutler dot com for more updates on Bowl of Cheese, Novel Ideas (ideas2words.com) and Things to Worry About.
